Parity of the numbers: even or odd?

  • A whole number is called even if it is divisible by 2; or, if it is divisible by 2 without a remainder
  • An integer is called odd if it is not divisible by 2; or if it is a remainder of 1 divisible by 2
  • This means that when dividing by 2, odd numbers always leave a remainder of 1, and even numbers leave a remainder of 0.

Even and odd numbers examples:
