Which is the newest Dell laptop

Dell Inspiron 2021: Notebooks with Ryzen or Core from 13 "to 16" for the first time

Dell is only introducing a new OLED option for the XPS 13 (9310) today, while the Inspiron series is being extensively updated: the Inspiron 13, 14, 15 and 15 2-in-1 from the 5000 series are being overhauled, the Inspiron 17 from the 7000 series is being completely reissued as the Inspiron 16 Plus.

The new Inspiron 16 Plus (7610)

The new Inspiron 16 Plus is Dell's first notebook with a 16-inch display, its format is 16:10. 16-inch in this format has been used prominently in the Apple MacBook Pro 16 (test) since 2019, and only LG use it for the Gram 16 and Lenovo for two Legion notebooks. The resolution at Dell is 3,072 × 1,920 pixels, the brightness up to 300 cd / m².

Possibly with Intel Tiger Lake-H45

There is no choice of the CPU manufacturer for this model. There is a choice of models of type “11. Generation Intel Core H-Series ". Dell could not or would not answer when asked whether it is Tiger Lake-H35 (test) with four or Tiger Lake-H45 with eight cores. The Inspiron 17 offered four-core CPUs, but because Dell does not yet name any specific SKUs for the Inspiron 16 and the notebook will not appear until the beginning of June, Tiger Lake-H45 is not unlikely.

"GeForce GTX" and the GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU (test) should be available as dGPUs. With what power loss, Dell does not reveal either. There will be a choice between 56 and 86 Wh for the battery. Pricing will start at $ 950 pre-tax.

Inspiron 15 (5510, 5515, 5518)

The CPU manufacturer's choice is offered to buyers with a display diagonal of one inch below that for the Inspiron 15 with a 16: 9 FHD display. Version 5510 is available with an Intel Core of the 11th generation based on Tiger Lake (-H35) with four cores, Version 5515 with AMD Ryzen 5000U. With the Ryzen 7 5700U, Ryzen 5 5500U and Ryzen 3 5300U, however, Dell relies exclusively on "Lucienne" and thus the Ryzen 5000U, which contain all the innovations in the series except for the Zen 3 CPU cores. They are only offered by the "Cezanne" type APUs.

With the AMD model, the Vega graphics unit of the APU is always used as the GPU, the Intel model optionally uses the GeForce MX450 in addition to the Xe-iGPU.

The chassis (14.6 mm - 17.99 mm × 356.06 mm × 228.9 mm, 16 kg) and the battery options are the same in both series (41 or 54 Wh), a 300 instead of 250 cd / m² A bright Full HD display is only available as an option for the Intel model. This also applies - in this case understandably - to Thunderbolt 4, which is less understandable but only available with the Core i7. Core i5 and Core i3 come with USB 3.2 Gen 2 × 2.

The Dell Inspiron 15 5510 is also available as the 5518 with Ubuntu instead of Windows 10 ex works. The new Inspiron 15 is available immediately in Europe. Prices are expected to start at $ 550 pre-tax.

Dell Inspiron 14 and 15 2-in-1 (5410, 5415 and 5418)

The Dell Inspiron 14 with 16: 9 FHD display is virtually the Inspiron 15 in one size smaller, because the options remain with Intel Core as a four-core U or H CPU (5410) and AMD Ryzen 5000 "Lucienne" (5415) same. The 300 cd / m² display is again only available for Intel and here, too, there is a Linux version of the Intel platform (5418). The battery remains either 41 or 54 Wh. This model is also available starting today, with MSRPs starting at $ 550 pretax.

As in the previous generation, the Inspiron 14 is also available as a 2-in-1. With better features in the base model, its prices start today at $ 730 before taxes. At AMD, the Ryzen 3 5300U is not included in the configurator and there are also no variants with only 4 GB of RAM in the 2-in-1. With the Core i7-1165G7 and Core i7-1185G7, Intel also has the two top SKUs in the 15-watt class.

Dell Inspiron 13 (5310)

The smallest diagonal is also offered in the latest generation of the Inspiron 13, in which - like the Inspiron 16 Plus at the top end - only CPUs from Intel are available again. In terms of price, it starts at US $ 599 before taxes above the Inspiron 14 and 15, but also offers at least 8 GB of RAM (LPDDR5X) and a 16:10 display with either 1,920 × 1,200 or 2,560 × 1,600 pixels at 300 cd / m² . The battery is also larger in the smaller chassis with 54 or 64 Wh and Thunderbolt 4 is offered twice, independent of the CPU. The weight is only 1.25 kilograms.
